“I’m 57. I have heart failure. Nothing can stop it. I can’t work. I’m so tired. I hate the city. I grew up in Sierra Nevada and want to go back there to die."

What do you want the public to know about homelessness?

” There is no normal everyday life out here. My back hurts so bad from carrying
my belongings all over and I’m always cold. I can’t find work but I’m trying.”

What are you hoping for?

“To get off the street, get MD care, get my shit together. A home with a locking
door. Get a job.”
